Car Insurance Saab (Car Insurance). help with a car stereo with 2 subs mid and highs.?help with a car stereo with 2 subs mid and highs.? ok so im building a car stereo for my car and im using 2 12inch subs with 900watts rms and 1200 peak power. along with 2 150watt full ranged speakers for the door. that will provide the high and mid sounds. my question is what amp should i use? how many watts? how many channels? can i only run the subs off the amp and run the mids and high right off the head unit, or will that mess with the power going to the amp? would it be better to use a 1500watt 2-channel amp for the subs and a smaller amp for the mids and highs? how many amps should i use? if i only use one amp for all the speakers how many channels should i have? and my last question is, how do you filter out the high sound from the subs and the low sould from the mid and high speakers? i know its alot of questions but pleas answer them all, thanks. Use a 2 channel amp with at least 1800 rms. The for your mids/highs get a four channel amp and match up the rms on each. For your last question your need a high pass filter and low pass filter. Some head units have this and most amps have it. Use the low pass filter on your amp for your subs. And use a high pass filter with your mids and highs. My sub amp has a built in lpf and my 4 channel has a hpf. Try to find a 4 channel amp with a hpf. Good luck! Auto parts : Direct Ignition Coil Acura 1995 . Direct Ignition Coil Boot Alfa Romeo 1996 . Saab . How to Replace Air Conditioning CompressorsModern cars and trucks are manufactured with air conditioning systems that use an engine driven compressor to circulate freon through a condenser and evaporator. The compressor can fail due to a lack of lubricant or mechanical damage, but replacing it is a direct procedure for most vehicles; the average backyard mechanic can replace an A/C compressor in about an hour. Difficulty:Moderately Challenging Instructions Things You'll Need Socket set Line wrench Step by Step : 1 Have the air conditioning system evacuated at a collection facility, such as a garage or oil change center. The freon coolant can be an environmental hazard, and requires professional equipment to collect. Most places will perform the initial evaluation for free as they get compensated to collect the freon. 2 Disconnect the battery by turning the positive terminal bolt counterclockwise. Set the open terminal aside, not touching any metal. 3 Turn the freon line nuts on the compressor in a counterclockwise direction and remove them from the compressor openings. There may be a slight hiss of latent pressure. Store the lines away from the compressor, but leave them connected to the rest of the system. 4 Press firmly on the tension pulley arm and slide the primary drive belt from the idle pulley. Release the arm and there should be enough slack to slide the belt from the compressor pulley wheel. 5 Disconnect the compressor from the wiring harness by pulling the adapter plug from the terminal on the compressor. 6 Turn the compressor mount nuts counterclockwise while holding the bolts with a second socket wrench. Slide the bolts from the mounts and the compressor can be manipulated from the engine compartment. 7 Replace the compressor by positioning it between the mount arms and sliding the bolts through the mount arm holes. Fasten the nuts and tighten them in a clockwise direction while holding the bolt heads with a second socket wrench. 8 Reattach the freon lines to the compressor by turning their line nuts clockwise until they are snug. Inspect the gaskets on the lines prior to securing them. 9 Wrap the drive belt around the compressor pulley wheel, groove side down. Press the tension pulley arm firmly and slide the drive belt underneath the idle pulley wheel. Reconnect the compressor to the wiring harness by pressing the adapter plug onto the compressor's terminal. Step by Step : 10 Reconnect the battery by turning the positive terminal bolt clockwise. Step by Step : 11 Refill the system with the proper level and type of freon by using DIY equipment (a can of freon with a twist valve), or taking the vehicle to the collection facility for refilling. Tips & Warnings Do not vent the freon into the atmosphere. Use extreme caution when working with freon recharge home kits, freon can freeze skin in seconds. Use protective gear such as latex gloves and face masks.
Saab . How to Replace a Camaro FloorRestoring a car means that you have to dig into every aspect of the vehicle, repairing and refinishing every part until it's brand new. Muscle cars have seen a surge in popularity recently, and more people are digging into old cars and trying to restore them to their former glory. One of the more common tasks to do is replacing the floor pan. This is not an easy task and takes a good amount of time to do properly, but if it's done right, the car is that much closer to being perfectly restored. In this case, the vehicle is the popular 1969 Camaro, but the process is the same for other year Camaros as well. Difficulty:Moderately Challenging Instructions Things You'll Need Replacement sheet metal panels Permanent marker Drill Spot weld cutter Air compressor Air chisel with weld cutting attachment Angle grinder with metal cut-off wheel Pneumatic punch Vice grips MIG welder Welding helmet and gloves Spray rubberized undercoating Step by Step : 1 Open both doors and locate the section of floor that you want to replace. It's possible to replace the entire floor if need be, but you can also just replace panels or sections depending on how bad the damage is. 2 Place the replacement sheet metal panel on top of the damaged panel and mark the perimeter of the replacement panel using the permanent marker. This is going to show you where you need to cut and/or remove. 3 Locate the spot welds that secure the floor to the underlying crossmembers. These are circular dents in the sheet metal that are factory welds, so don't have a raised look as another weld would have. 4 Drill out the spot welds using the drill and spot weld cutter. This can be frustrating, and you may need to cut the piece out directly with the angle grinder and cut-off wheel, or with the air chisel powered by the air compressor. You want to make sure that the replacement panel will overlay old sheet metal by about 1 inch or so, to provide for a solid welding surface. This means you may have to cut inside of the marks you made previously, depending on the placement of the spot welds. 5 Punch holes in the perimeter of the replacement panel using the pneumatic punch. You want a hole every 4 inches or so, as these will be spots where you'll be welding. 6 Place the replacement panel into the car, and align it using the marks you made previously and any marks from previous spot welds. Clamp the sheet metal to the car using the vice grips. 7 Weld the replacement panel to the floor pan using the MIG welder, welding helmet and welding gloves. You're welding the holes that you made with the punch to the floor pan, creating a plug weld that is extremely strong. Just weld the surface enough to fill the hole, no further. 8 Spray the replacement panel with the rubberized undercoating. This will protect the panel from rust and will also provide a small amount of sound deadening. 9 Repeat the process for other holes in the floor. To find out which person to approach, see the next section, "Climbing the complaint ladder." 4. Open with a bit of friendly conversation. The key is to establish a relationship as human beings. Very few were taught to expect friendliness, trust, and compassion. When they encounter it, their battle tactics are useless. 5. Clearly state the problem and what you'd like the person to do about it. Tell your story as though you were talking to a sympathetic friend, with out blaming anyone. Keep it as short as possible, and don't cloud the issue with unnecessary details. 6. Be prepared to back up your request with as much documentation as possible. This is why it's so important to keep maintenance records, invoices, guarantees, and warranties. If you're asked to document your case, never part with your originals; just Saab . In a friendly fashion, keep reiterating your problem and what you want them to do to rectify the situation. Say things like, "Gee, that's really a problem. I know how hard it must be to deal with something like that — and what can you do to help me?" Be reasonable. If the person says that he or she can't help you, ask who has the authority to do so. It's usually a supervisor. 11. If you're told that it's company policy not to provide a remedy for your problem, stay cheerful — but refuse to accept it. Kid the person out of it.
